Club secretary Shaun Acton is delighted with the efforts of club captain Ian Dennis.
He said: “The club has managed to secure eight Sunday friendlies for the coming season, with the highlight being a trip to Chatsworth.

Acton admits his Saturday team, who play in the Scarborough Beckett League, will head into the 2021 campaign with very few changes in personnel
He added: “Sewerby CC will head into the 2021 season pretty much how they finished the 2020 season. With not much possibility of recruitment due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic I feel we have a good enough team to compete in the league we are in.
“We have a mixture of players who are experienced and some brilliant young talent coming through so there will be competition for places.”

“I hope we can eventually put this pandemic behind us and get back to cricket without the restrictions, the league has done a fantastic job of putting a structure in place and they should be commended on their efforts, in what without doubt, many people’s worse year of their lives.”
Following a committee meeting last week it was decided the club will not be holding Sewerby Gala this year due to Covid-19 – with all the uncertainty of the pandemic it was thought it was not feasible to organise such an event .
All being well the gala will be back in 2022.
